Aug 2022 Update from Abel and Sarah
Greetings loved ones,
We praise God for His steadfast love. We thank Him for your love and support.
The summer (actually the winter for us since it’s the cooler season) is flying by just like we thought. We thank God for all that we’ve been able to accomplish and enjoy!
Abel and I were asked to be a best man and maid of honor in a friend’s wedding a couple of weekends ago. These positions here are usually filled with a couple that’s been married for a while and that the bride and groom see as a role model in their marriage. We were honored to be asked and thank God for all that He’s done in our marriage.
Accepting these roles is a life-long commitment to the couple. As explained to us, they will come to us before anyone else if they’re having problems in their marriage or if they any questions. It’s neat to see that these roles are taken so seriously here. May God give us wisdom as we walk along side this couple.
Their wedding day was super fun and fancy. I’ve never been made up with so much makeup before and I’ve never seen Abel’s beard look so good. It was fun to put ourselves under their care, letting them tell us what to wear and what to do since we had no idea what we were expected to do…or look like. :) And to give you another glimpse into the wedding, the groom wore glittery gold shoes to the reception!
Please pray for this newly wedded couple, Joas and Naomi.
Abel and his colleagues have another trip coming up in August to visit those pastors who have been working through the curriculum, Milele Hata Milele. After this trip the pastors will have gone through the whole curriculum themselves and should be ready for the next step- to guide their leaders/ elders through God’s story. May God be glorified and may people fall in love with and be reconciled to Him.
Abel has been having a lot of shoulder pain the last 9 months. We are hoping to get it checked out in August. Please pray that we’ll know which doctor to see and be able to figure out what’s going on and how to help him.
There is a new way that you and your church can help support us here in Tanzania! If you drink coffee, you could order your coffee through the following website, they contribute 100% of their profit to us:
