Aug 2022 Update from Brooke Bateman

Thank you for your continued prayers for the Deaf Ukrainians. We have 5 who have decided to settle and make a new life here in Oradea, Romania. I have had amazing connection with them and your contributions have continued to bless them. Just yesterday I took Galina shopping to buy some pots and pans as well as some shorts and pants. She had only two pair for the past 5 months. Out of the 5 she is the one most open to God and wanted to be baptized before the war broke out. Pray for her to be baptized here in Romania if this is Gods plan. Pray for the other 4 who are not so interested in spiritual things. Yet, are surrounded by us believers. At times they come to the church but yet the sign language is different, being in Romanian sign. And they use Ukrainian sign. I have been learning Ukrainian sign for the past 5 months and can communicate on a basic level :) pray for a Deaf male believer to take interest in learning Ukrainian sign and sharing their faith with them too!

Roman is intelligent and very influential in the Ukrainian Deaf community pray for his heart to be drawn to Jesus. There is some degree to openness at times but I see the battle. Satan truly wants to keep the Deaf from full surrender to Jesus. They really are such an unreached people group. They need our intercessory prayer.

Pray for the Ukrainian Deaf to recognize their sin and need for Christ! That they desire Him and see Jesus in me.

Pray for me to have wisdom and the courage to share Jesus when God is leading me. Pray for clear communication.

I am interpreting for them in dental appointments, doctor visits, help with government assistance. Pray for this. :)

My trip to Tanzania was amazing! Pray for the teams as they translate God’s word into sign language and bring it to children in Deaf schools! The testimony and impact has been amazing. Pray for their budget proposal to be approved for the next three years so they can continue to work to bring the Gospel throughout their region!
