March 2021 Update from Brooke Bateman
Dear ABC family,
Thank you for your prayers. I am very encouraged and can feel your prayers and support. Please pray for my visa process. It has been a prolonged process due to COVID. My current visa expires on March 3rd. I’m applying for a 5-year religious volunteer visa. There is just one remaining form for which I’m waiting for and then once it arrives from Bucharest, I will make another visit to immigration. My hope is by the time you read this I will have my visa. But there is a chance I will need your urgent prayers. Please pray for the Deaf Bible translation team and family in Tanzania. Several of them are losing family members and friends to COVID. Please pray for God to encourage them and heal those who are currently sick. The needs are great. God knows. Thank you for lifting these beloved brothers and sisters in prayer. I am transitioning from training into my official roles. I am thrilled and enjoying learning about how to implement Scripture Engagement in successful ways. Please pray for me to have wisdom from God in how we should implement these practices here in Romania and beyond. Our goal is to have the Deaf have ownership and take initiative in the work together. Please pray for solid relationships to continue to form and new ones to develop. Pray for my language learning as I’m working on multiple sign languages and Romanian. Part of my role is interpreting for international meetings which requires a whole new set of skills and experience. I’m currently working with a mentor and taking courses. Pray for the discipleship relationships with Claudia, Lidia, and Remus. Pray for me to have wisdom on how to encourage and engage with them as God leads us. I believe they are natural leaders and persons of peace in Oradea (the city in which we live). Pray for them to step out in faith where God is calling them to. The Romanian Bible Translation team is doing well. They are currently translating Mark chapter 5 please pray for the Deaf to be receptive to the Scriptures and lives to be changed. Thank you so much!!
Serving together,
Brooke
