January 2021 Prayer Requests from Courtney Hermosillo

Hi all! I left for my outreach on The Big Island a week ago! We have put on Rugby camps, made meals for 130 of the locals, and picked up over 300LBS of trash. which has been so great for a time of building relationships with the local teens and families here! We are working with a local DTS called Holo Holo (which is a Hawaiian word for basically going) through them we’ve met a lot of the kama'aina who are native to the land they’ve been a crucial part of my time here, they have been hurt by missionaries and we are learning to immerse in a culture where you learn to ho’olohe (listen) more than you kamailia (talk). Continue praying for our ministry here in Hawaii, it’s not what was initially planned but we are seeing God’s favor on the call to stay here and serve, we are currently looking for ways we can serve because COVID has limited some of our opportunities! I have felt God's calling to step into missions after my DTS so I will be attending a Missionary Bible Core Course in April here in Kona and require funding for that! Thank you all for praying and thinking of me! I sure have missed being at ABC for the holidays and all of the great events we have!
