April 2022 Update from Abel and Sarah
Thank you for praying for what the Lord is doing here in Tanzania.
This last month, one of Abel’s former students welcomed Abel to join him in teaching at a Bible college in downtown. This semester there are 25 students who are a mix of pastors and younger students. They are midway through Romans. Please be praying for the discussions as they use the Word as their standard for truth.
Abel has been busy preparing with his team for the national tour to review the first half of the book they wrote. They will be meeting with pastors in regional groups who have already the first half of the book. The pastors have done a good job in reading the book and have had many good questions. During this preparation time, Abel has been going back through the Swahili book and writing out the themes represented in each lesson, where they are found, and questions that will help the pastors draw the whole storyline together. This has been a very difficult task. Please be praying for him as he works through these lessons. Pray that the questions would be challenging, and continue to cause the pastors to rely on Gods Word to answer the questions that both they and their congregations have about life.
The language school is going well, and we were pleased to add two more students last month. We plan to open an English branch of the school in the same location beginning in June.
Andrew and Heidi have been working hard on their school play coming up in mid-April. The play is Mary Poppins and Heidi is playing Jane Banks, and Andrew is playing Mr. Banks.
Pacey has joined an archery class at school and is having fun with shooting alongside her buddies.
Sarah is continuing Swahili studies and has started helping some of the other students with study and integration skills.
We are continuing to settle into our house here. Last month we were able to buy bunk beds for the kids and two toilets. We have native grass growing in our yard, and it has grown to the point where we can now cut it, which is exciting.
Thanks for praying for us as we settle while having so many other responsibilities. We miss you and are thankful for you. Please email us and let us know how you are doing, and what new things you are learning in life.
