November 2020 Update from Brooke Bateman

Dear ABC Family, 

I pray and hope you are well and I thank God you’re able to fellowship during this time. 

Please pray for Romania as we are in the red zone for Coronavirus. My church is currently coming up with a plan of how we might still be able to gather during such times. 

Please pray for a discipleship relationship with Claudia (one of my language helpers)  age 19, she is Deaf and joined the Bible translation team in September! She and I have grown close sis Ce the moment I moved here and I see the Lord using me here to help encourage and mentor her as we discuss life’s issues, God’s Word, and even worship in sign language together. 

Pray for Remus, my other language helper! He is Deaf in his 40’s and I just interpreted my first meeting for him and my supervisor in Romanian Sign language! It was a beautiful challenge. I thank God I’m learning the language fairly quickly. Pray as we invited him to collaborate and even head up some projects. The goal is to empower the Deaf to lead projects and create change for the better. He is extremely intelligent and has much to offer the community. Pray for his heart and that he would see the need for making Jesus the Lord of his life. And for me to be a light to him. We do have spiritual conversations and he is very open. 

Pray for my well-being as I am homesick during this time with the holidays approaching and not being able to plan anything because of COVID. Pray, I can creatively find ways to open my home and fellowship while still following the guidelines of course! 

Huge praise!! The American Sign Language Bible translation has been completed! Which marks the first Sign Language translation completed. It took 37 years. Let’s pray Romanian Bible translation won’t take nearly as long. Currently, they are working on Mark chapter four Pray for that to go really well.
